Rights and guarantees in the french criminal process

Abstract

This article characterizes the French criminal trial from the perspective of due process of law. Based on the rights and guarantees available to the accused, and the duties imposed by law on the judge during the proceedings, the author assesses the benefits and drawbacks of the normative provision and its practical operation.
